There is so much to review about this movie………………I will start with the actors. As many of you know, I had a HUGE problem with the fact that they cast Kristin Stewart as Snow White. Twilight was terrible and she was even worse. She also always plays the same character and acts the same in everything. I bet you are all thinking I am going to say, “nothing has changed.” Well, I have been proven wrong. I am not saying they should start polishing an Oscar or anything, but someone has been taking acting lessons. Kristin…………..I applaud you. Even her accent was good. She didn’t get annoying once. I am still in shock.
Speaking of polishing Oscars however……………can we just give Charlize another one? She brought evil to a whole new level. I almost thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head in one scene. Her performance was perfection. She proves that she didn’t just win her Oscar for playing an ugly role. She can act without having to scale down her beauty. And my goodness was she gorgeous in this. Wow. I must know what is in that milk pool she gets into.
As if Charlize wasn’t eye candy enough, not only did they put one outrageously gorgeous man in the movie………..but two! They were worth the two hours alone. They were not the only gorgeous part of the movie either. The special effects were stunning, as was the cinematography. Every new scene had a better landscape than the last. What the movie lacked in story, it made up for in visuals. It was like a gallery of beautiful paintings. Colleen Atwood (3 time Oscar winner) once again provided unbelievably gorgeous costumes. I wanted all of Charlize’s outfits. Who cares about comfort and mobility when they look like that?
This movie was not flawless by all means. The characters could have been developed a bit more, but you get the general story. I don’t want to give away any plot, but the ending definitely could have provided a bit more explanation of what was going to happen with some of the characters. Perhaps there will be a sequel? Anyway, who is really planning on watching this movie to see character development? It is a classic tale, with a bit of a twist in some areas. The purpose is to see a classic story in a different light. A darker, visually appealing, artistic light. Those looking for romance……….not the point. Those looking for adventure and beauty everywhere you turn…………….here you go.
MY FINAL SAY………..does it matter? You know you are going to see it anyway.
